This little toll house is thought to have been built for the Worksop to Retford Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. It is in the form of a lodge house with angular front. It is currently a domestic property but only minor changes to the original tollhouse structure have been made. External features; two-storeys on canted bay front floor plan, having a hipped, hip over bay roof, with walls mainly of rough stone, roofed in pantile, square headed windows with casements, no porch with a round arch headed doorway; in angle of road junction. Stonework has been pointed but there are some cracks in the front wall. The tollhouse is butted onto similar stone cottages. The building is Listed Grade II. Bibliography:
